String Festival Archdiocesan Elementary Strings
The guest conductor for 2020-21 will once again be Mrs. Donna Frisch.
Assisted by Tyler Meil.
Because of the current and possible conditions of the Covid19 virus, we have been requested by the Office of Catholic Education and the Faith in the Future Foundation to defer the Concert of Excellence to the Spring of 2022.
I hope this note finds everyone well. These past few months have been challenging to say the least, but I’ve always enjoyed a good challenge.
I am writing to attempt to bring you up to date on what the Archdiocesan is planning at this point, as we all do our due diligence on the calendar
scheduling for the upcoming school year. Keeping in mind, in our world of the unexpected, things may change, these are our tentative plans.
The same students who were about to perform this year in the String Festival are invited to participate next school year, including those students who will be 9th grades in the fall. (Congratulation to you!) In fact, I am counting on it - this orchestra is a team and everyone is needed. Since last year's students already have, prepared and learned the concert music, no additional new string students can be added. There will be limited rehearsals due to our virus situation.
The choirs who also did not get a chance to perform, will also invite their 9th graders to participate, as their music will remain the same.
I will need the commitment from everyone, especially, our 9th graders.**(9th graders will not be expected to attend as many rehearsals as the others as I understand you may also have All Catholic Orchestra rehearsals as well)
The Festival is scheduled for March 14, 2021. Rehearsals: Feb. 6, 20, March 6, 2021.
9th graders, please respond to Mrs. Fritch and let her know your intention.
If anyone has any questions, I’ll try to answer them.
Blessings to all,
